Ambassadors...

The Ambassadors Programme was launched a number of years ago to maximise network opportunities and support the aims and objectives of the county. This key group has been instrumental in raising the profile of the county and creating excellent contact with potential investors.

Ambassadors work support and encourage a thriving local economy. This is achieved through good networking and the provision of information but with minimum bureaucracy and no regular meetings.

The programme recognises that there are many people who are in influential positions and can promote the county as part of their everyday lives. The Ambassadors Programme seeks to harness this community interest and provide a support mechanism for it. Members are drawn from across the county and represent all businesses sectors as well as the public and voluntary/community sectors. Expatriates and opinion formers from the media and politics are also involved. Each member personally commits themselves and their company/organisation to the programme.

The main purpose of the Ambassadors Programme is to support the development and economic wellbeing of the county by:

• confirming commitment and action from Gloucestershire ‘key influencers’
• creating door-opening opportunities and influence wherever possible
• supporting partnership initiatives to create a sustainable economic environment
• promoting Gloucestershire throughout the UK and around the world on every possible occasion
• increasing media coverage and involvement of Gloucestershire worldwide
