The Vision is changing how we position, celebrate and value food by understanding and caring for its production, distribution and presentation. From establishment it has led to at least £3.5M worth of additional food based activity in the County.

How we work

The Food Vision Team provide advise and support on all aspects of food policy.  In order to deliver the long term benefits of the Food Vision, they are working with all partners to co-ordinate and facilitate food based activity in the County and beyond.

A new cook book entitled Real Meals: Cold Food That Tastes Great has recently been launched by the Department of Children, Schools and Families. The book is aimed at Year 6 Primary School pupils and contains a host of recipes to prepare from scratch during the school holidays. The recipes were developed with support from the School Food Trust and British Nutrition Foundation. We believe that these could all be used to create the perfect picnic.
